Before you could even consider entrusting bride&glory with one of the most important days of your life, you should know a bit more about us.

the brains

The brain & driving force behind bride&glory is Anna MacDougall. Over the past twelve years she has planned and coordinated events in the UK and overseas, with some of them taking place in Italy, China, the Middle East and the Caribbean and ranging from 10 to 10,000 guests.

her learning curve

Although not the easiest of environments for an event manager to ‘grow-up’ in, Anna considers herself lucky to have been put through her paces within the world of Formula One – inarguably a prestigious (and fastidious) environment to run events in & around.

SUCH a cliché but failure is, quite literally, not an option.

And contrary to popular belief, the motorsport world isn’t just about cars going round in circles but involves a vast array of different high-profile events: executive gala dinners, PR stunts, media dinners and opening ceremonies are just a few.

Working in this world has taught her over and over again that successful events are incredibly hard work (both mentally & physically) and simply not possible without meticulous planning, attention to the smallest details and lots (and lots) of lists.

jumping ship

So far, so good, but how does that make her a wise choice for being my wedding planner, you probably (and quite rightly so) think.

Weddings are magical, full of hope, love and the promise of two people starting a glorious new life together. How could you not want to be part of the process? Seeing the lovingly and meticulously planned details come together, reflected on the ecstatic faces of brides and grooms, more than makes up for the long hours and hard work it takes to make it all happen.

Like any other event though, planning and coordinating a wedding is not glamorous but seriously hard work. There is nothing truer than the old adage that “if you do your job well, you make it look easy”.

After a few years of living & working overseas, Anna and her (by now) husband returned to the UK. She had grown a little weary of both their work schedules involving travelling and living a post-it note relationship (she literally still has a post-it that says: "baked beans in cupboard - dog walked - see you next week - love you").

So she hung up her corporate heels and started up bride&glory, which she runs full-time from a small and crumbling yet perfectly formed Chapel in Bucks.

If you want to know more or meet her and find yourself in Bucks, please drop by at the Chapel for a jug of Pimms and a Bundt cake – bride&glory’s doors are always open.
